Can you please de-crease Margaret - Completed. Thanks
« on: Thursday 14 September 17 08:01 BST (UK) »
Any chance taking the creases out of this?
Many thanks.

PS Does anybody know what the 'badge' she has at the top of the zip is? Is she wearing some form of uniform?
My guess is about 1940. Her husband was in the airforce in the war - looks like 'wings'?

Hi Goldie,

The badge looks like an RAF "Sweetheart" badge - given to loved ones by aircrew in WW2.

example here - http://www.sellingantiques.co.uk/141090/9ct-gold-raf-wings-sweetheart-brooch/

Judy

PS You might want to change your title from to decease to decrease!!  ;D ;D ;D
Best wishes, Judy :-))

Interesting that "deceased" and "de-ceased" can be opposite in meaning. A "deceased" person no longer lives, they have "ceased" living. A "de-ceased" person therefore is one who is not "ceased". They are not "ceased-living". Goldie wanted Margaret "de-ceased" by removing the crease from her throat so that she no longer looked "deceased". (This is starting to sound like Abbott and Costello's "Who's on first[?]" now, so I'd better go to bed.) ;D
Cheers, Peter.

Many thanks everybody for your wonderful work.  :)
She looks a lot better now she's de-creased (and not de-ceased with a crease even!), Peter  ;)
