My great-great-grandmother was Maggie O'Hare, born around 1852 in Coatdykes, Lanarkshire, daughter of Michael O'Hare and Anne Kylie.

I found a likely marriage for Michael and Anne in Airdrie or New Monkland, Lanarkshire in April 1845 so if they are the correct parents of Maggie I am guessing there's a good chance there were more children before Maggie came along.

Maggie married James Willison in 1869 in Dunbar, East Lothian and they lived in Edinburgh, then Glasgow, then a couple of years in Limerick, Ireland and then back to Glasgow, having children born in all these locations. They eventually settled in the Parkhead area of Glasgow, she outliving James and dying aged 68 in 1920.

I'd love to know if any O'Hare researchers had Maggie somewhere in their tree. Maggie and James' origins have always been problematic to me although it's been James that I have been concentrating on mostly so far, so it would be great to get more info on Maggie.

Have you checked all the censuses for Maggie? Couldn't really find anything in the early censuses for Michael and wife Ann. It may be that they were also moving between Ireland and Scotland perhaps.

Have you got both Maggie's marriage to James and her death? Did parent details match for her? What was her father Michael's occupation on these certs? Did her parents show as alive still or deceased on the certs?

James married previously wasn't he. Valentine and Maggie from his first marriage.

Maggie shows Cambrose as her birth place in 1871. Likely a mistranscription of Cambrae (in Bute?), which she gives as her birth place in 1901 where she also showed as aged 50. Where did you see the reference to Coatdykes for her birth place? Another census entry?

I will be back with some answers to the questions you posed as soon as I can, but in the meantime - yes, Maggie is listed as being born in Carnbroe in one census and Coatdyke in another.

And yes Hydes, I was hoping we may each have something to offer the other with our O'Hares.
