James Moffatt

I am looking for information on James Moffatt born Annan in 1854. He married first to Martha Guthrie born Bewcastle Cumberland  in 1855 then second to Jane born Sebergham Cumberland in 1855. I can't find a record of his birth. Can anyone look him up on the 1871 census? He lived in Brampton in Cumberland by 1878.

There was a history of the Moffat family by the late Francis Moffat of that Ilk in 1987 by Phillimore.  There is also a substantial Clan Moffat organisation which had its annual meeting in August in Moffat, with people coming over from America.
