Hello
I am researching a friends line
Petrie from South Ronaldsay/Burray areas
Earliest confirmed is William Petrie c1776 Burray married Barbara Simpson (from Caithness)
children James, John, Andrew, Gavin and Peter
Friends line comes through James (married Betsy Sutherland) child David (married Margaret Robinson) and their child John (married Jessie A Taylor)
She believes there are still Petrie relatives on the Islands.
We are looking for any further information, links etc
Thank you
akc

Hi, there are certainly lots of Petries still living in Orkney, you would be best to join the Orkney Family History Society, or post your query on their facebook page, I,m pretty sure someone will reply.
Dumfriesshire: Bell, Kerr, Dickson, Hetherington
Orkney: Cursiter, Peace, Drever, Cooper, Paterson, Brock, Leslie, Malcomson, Miller, Scott
Cumberland: Charlton, Young
