« on: Saturday 19 August 17 17:14 BST (UK) »
Wondering if anyone could assist in a search on this or is it only upto 1901?
My grandfather dissapeared over 20 years ago, I only just found a Ancestry hint for possibly him
Robert Craig born 27 February 1935, Edinburgh 685/05 0363
I've seen a death date on Ancestry = Nov 1996 Brent, Greater London, England.

Name:    Robert Craig
Death Age:    61
Birth Date:    27 Feb 1935
Registration Date:    Nov 1996
Registration district:    Brent
Inferred County:    Greater London
Register Number:    C29C
District and Subdistrict:    2211C

I don't have any further info and was hoping to match parents in Death Certificate..

I have access to full access to Ancestry UK records and also Fold3 - Military records, happy to return the favour in looks ups for any records. Ufortunately u here in Scotland the GRO is here in my town Edinburgh but dosn't hold English records..

If you can help please let me Know.

Thanks

Thanks nanny,

Would there be anything on the death Certificate to see if I have the correct person, would it show Birth place and also next of kin or person regisering death.

Thanks

It will not show next of kin but the person registering the death might be a member of the family. Their qualification (son/brother etc,) should be shown. However, the details given, apart from date, place and cause of death, are only as good as the informant's knowledge of the person........which is not always accurate.

From www.deceasedonline.co.uk He died on 23 Nov 1996.

It appears that he was cremated on 18 December 1996  at the West London Crematorium.

He is listed as being 61,single,retired and a Roman Catholic. It gives a Kilburn address.
Presumably whoever gave that info didn't know him particularly well.

Register number 67116,I would get in touch with them and see if they can tell you anymore.
For example who arranged for the body to be cremated.

I had £2-50 left to spend on the website,if I didn't I would lose it,so yes I did spend the money.

It doesn't give you much more than I typed out apart from an address.
I will send you a PM.
