Well I agree with that.  I don't think I can be blamed for the fact that my ancestors settled not far from the shores of Gitchigoomie and displaced the rightful inhabitants.  I have reason to think that at least some of them recognized that there was a moral downside to what they were doing.  But they did it.  And it doesn't hurt to be saddened by what happened as a result while also recognizing that there were some heroic pioneer stories, too.
