This appears to be James' first arrival in the US in 1922 - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:23XK-C1F  The 2nd page of the image says he was going to join brother-in-law Irving Mellor in Sherman, California.

This looks like him on the Social Security Death Index - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JB7V-B6V

On the California death index, it says he was born 8 May 1898 in another country, died 27 Jun. 1987 in Orange County, and his mother's maiden name was Barber.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VPMC-KM7

There are border crossings from 1924 and 1931 that indicate James went to join his brother Joseph in Vancouver, British Columbia.  In 1924, Joseph's address was 2758 39th Ave., E. Vancouver.  In 1931, it was 2962 W. 29th Ave., Vancouver.

This appears to be Joseph's marriage record - https://www.familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JDZN-NV2  And his death record - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FLYX-C54  Someone has a family tree with him on it here - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cocksedge-16
