Has anyone had their Ancestry DNA done that links them to the family of William Horatio Brown and Susannah Dubock.

Have you checked surnames interest board for Dubock?

Hi Rosjan,
   Did you know you can upload your ancestry DNA to gedmatch https://www.gedmatch.com/ so it can be compared with DNA results from other sources (other than ancestry).   It's free! It gives more possibilities for matches.

Thank you for your help. It's beginning to look like that the DNA says one thing and the paper trail says another. At the moment the evidence is going the DNA way. Interesting times to come.

If still interested,  I'm possibly related through William's son James Horatio Brown who married Ellen McCluskey, but a possible paternity issue. James and Ellen were married shortly after the birth of Harriett Sarah Brown, but James name is not on the certificate (a Nicholas is). I've done Ancestry DNA, also FTDNA and are on Gedmatch if interested in checking.

I've not done any DNA testing as yet (although I'm favouring LivingDNA at the moment over Ancestry, but can't afford either for now) but Susannah Dubock's maternal grandfather Thomas Briggs was the half brother of my 4 x Great Grandfather Oakley Briggs.  Not sure, though, with half siblings how much DNA would be shared.  On the Briggs side there will be that issue since Thomas' only full sibling died as an infant but he had four half siblings who had children, although how many of those lines have living descendants remains to be seen.

The likelihood of getting a match from autosomal DNA that AncestryDNA, FTDNA (Family Finder) and 23andMe is based on statistics. The DNA a person shares with a common ancestor gets diluted as time goes on. With autosomal DNA there is (subjectively) 99.6% chance of descendants sharing 2x great grandparents DNA, 54% chance  with 3 x great grandparents and only .01% with 4x great grandparents. So in your case a match at 4x GG parents is statistically low) [Although I just had one today to a 4th cousin once removed so not impossible] Other options if you can show a direct paternal line (e.g. father, father's father etc) is YDNA or mtDNA for a direct maternal line (mother, mother's mother etc) which remain consistent through time
