Does anyone on here know how I can get more information than I have as BELOW?? for Clara Maria MUNNIK nee'ROURKE. Family papers say she died at the seige of MAFEKING, or as some documents say "the seige of Kimberley." I do not know who she married. Her parents were Michael John ROURKE married to Mary Anne KILDEA. Clara was born Feb 1870 in Cape Town SA.- cheers from Victoria Australia - Lynda Scott nee' ROURKE.

Have found death certs. Found her Death certs but no names of her husband or her two children. So happy to have found these docs. and she died of Peripheral Neuritus. and buried Kimberley cemetery. Still would like help to find her husband and now also her two children - sex unknown.

Marriage Certificate for Clara Maria ROURKE and Mr Munnick now ... Now where do I go?

There must be an error in the reference number for Clara Maria's death notice in the Cape Archives - I had a look at that DN and it is for a "John Lewis."

Thank you Kinsy - I Copy and Pasted the info for Claras death off. Thank you so much. I have found her death certs - One from Kimberley hosp. and one from Registrars. They had her date 14 Feb 1900 and length of stay - 18 Days. Her Parents names, although they had Marion instead of Mary Ann, and Michael. It didnt have her husbands name, but said Married and it had two Children - Unknown names and gender. and it also had that she died of the Peripheral Neuritus, as above.

I now am looking for Marriage certs, Knowing her married name is MUNNICK from a family owned newspaper clipping. Maybe then after finding that I will find birth certs for 2 children.

The marriages for this period are on-line but un-indexed if you go to familysearch.org and look in the catalog for Cape Province you can find the marriages under Civil records - here are the links

If you look for the names in the index you can then determine what year to look for in the folders - be aware that all the index images are duplicated - and you will probably have to go through a number of years to find what you are looking for. The actual marriage records are filed in date order.

Will someone please tell me what  SA Master's Office/Orphan Chamber is?  While on Ancestry, I found an ancestor that has a death notice from this place or organization. My record shows he died in 1889 in MN, and is buried there. I will be checking his death cert, but until then, I would like to know more about this.  Thanks
