Hi Ian:

Thanks for catching that!  Now I see page 241 and that she got married.

So I know now she is the wrong Ida Maria Andersson.  I will keep looking.  Thanks for your help.

She married Sanfrid Bjorklund in Bridgeport, Connecticut in November 1908.  From US Census records, it says she arrived in the US between 1895 and 1902 (different dates are given).  When she married, her name was Ida Maria Anderson.

I received church records from a Swedish church in Connecticut from the early 1900s.  It says she was born 21 Dec 1875 (or 1878...it's hard to read the last number) in Åsarp, (Elfsborg?).  But that's the same place where her husband was born in 1873 (which is correct), so I'm wondering if they put the same parish for her by mistake.

All other records of her in the US state she was born in 1875 or 1876.  I just ordered her 1943 death certificate from Connecticut to see if it offers any clues.

I was hoping to find her birth record, moving out of Sweden record, etc.  I searched Norra Åsarp for a birth record but could not find it.  I have her husband's info 100% correct, and her children, just not her.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks,

Paul

Ian:

I found more info on Ida Maria (Andersson).  Her birthday was 21 Dec 1875.  The location Borsti.....fors?  It's hard to read.  Then it says Skaraborgs Län.  I checked a few parishes that are close (Börstig) but no luck finding her birth record.  Can you take a look when you have some time?

Thanks,

Paul
