Not all families did have a Bible for recording family details and not all those that had a Family Bible filled out those lovely pages for recording such information (I inherited one originally belonging to my great-great-grandfather with no writing except his name). Usually the best way to see if such a Bible exists in your family it to trace living descendants and ask them.
