Glenholm

So, yesterday I'm driving from Moffat through the borders and pass a place saying Glenholm garden center. Glenholm was where my 2 x great grandmother was born. Anyone on here familiar with the name Boa? I didn't realise the actual place still existed.

I'm just marking this as a name I have come across (Boa) although I'm almost sure it was in Inverness-shire (from memory)?

It doesn't seem a common name i.e. may be connected?

I should have stated that it was not uncommon for Lowlanders to be given work in the Highlands hence my suggestion of my recollection in my research.

I have come across a few families in the Highlands who originated from the Borders areas.

Hello again, her name was Marion Boa, born in 1858. Her mother's name was Janet Boa. No mention of father on her birth certificate but names John Wilson as her father on her marriage certificate. She was married to John Hay, then divorced, and married Patrick Connelly. I know there were Boas in the Roxburgh area, but I haven't been able to make a connection yet. Oh, and Janet was born in Drumelzier.
