Hi,
I have been having a bit of trouble with my Wife's Great Grandmother and her family in 1911 census.
She is Elizabeth Murphy born 26 Jan 1895, baptised at St Augustine, Liverpool.
Her Father is James Murphy born 19 Sept 1862, baptised at Our Lady Of Reconciliation De La Salette, Liverpool.
Her Mother is Alice(Alicia) Murphy(Cassidy) born 21 May 1868, baptised at St Augustine, Liverpool.
She also has following siblings- John 1885, Ann 1887, James 1891, Michael 1896, Bridget 1899.
I have them in all available census, marriage, birth records but then they seem to disappear for the 1911 census.
I have searched for a long time trying to find them then i came across a possible lead in youngest child Bridget Murphy, aged 11. I found someone with a similar age living in Wavertree Cottages, Liverpool as an 'Inmate' in what i am guessing is some sort of workhouse/lodging for children.
Based on this i worked on the assumption that the family had possibly been split up for an unknown reason but still could not find the rest of the family.
I have just recently come across a James Murphy with similar age lodging at St Annes Street, Liverpool which seems to be a doss house/workhouse sort of place. If anyone has any information on this place it would be very welcome! It lists his occupation as Dock Labourer which is what it has on Elizabeth's marriage certificate in 1920. But i still cannot find anything on where Elizabeth Murphy and her mother Alice are living at this time. Are they separated or together? Or are the whole family together somewhere and the above is just a coincidence?
I hope that makes sense- any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Stephen
