.         In April 1850 Frances Mary Buss opened the North London Collegiate School for Ladies at 46 (later renumbered 12) Camden Street. Camden Town was then a professional neighbourhood near both Hampstead and the City, and 35 daughters of gentlemen and 'the most respectable' tradesmen assembled on the opening day. The Vicar of St. Pancras, Canon Thomas Dale, who already had a similar school for boys in his parish, lent his Interest and support

Which fits in with where they were living in 1871.

Hi,
I hope someone can help with this query.
I'm sorry it's vague as the only info I've got is the info on the flyleaf of a book I've inherited.
I'm looking for a H.C de Hersant-sex unknown, but he or she is of school age.
The book in question was a prize for punctuality in the midsummer of 1872 at the North London Collegiate School(I don't think it's the famous girls school as it has a headmasters name ,Chas.Wm. Williams DD.F.R.A.S. inscribed at the bottom of the page and not that of the girls school Headmistress of the time, Frances Buss).
If anyone can give me the slightest info on Mr or Miss de Hersant I'ld be very grateful.
Many thanks,
Trisha. :) :) :)
Hi Trisha, did find Jean Fidel Hersant's birth in Orleans, he was born on 11/06/1800,
his father was Armand, Fidel Hersant, he lived, Rue David Gabaud nr 1bis in Orleans, his mother was Marie Madeleine Therese Brochon, Jean Fidel was born at 5.00PM, did find also his brother, Armand, Fidel Hersant born on 5/11/1797 and a sister named Marie Madeleine born on 25/03/1802
it sounds like he had two other brothers, do check and come back to you tomorrow.
bye for now
Didier

Findmypast
The first marriage of Jean Fidele de Hersant was 1823 at St Mary Northgate Kent possible by license
Archbishop of Canterbury.
I don't have a subscription so cannot see the date and witnesses.
Or perhaps someone has access to the register of St Mary Northgate to get the details

ADDED
Also on Findmy past
Penelope was buried 1837 St Andrew Plymouth Devon
Also dated 1838 there is information in the Tipperary Clans Archive in Ireland
