Hi Beth,

I've also done a bit of research on the Stokes family and we do descend from a man, named Herman Walter Stokes who in turn, was a son of THOMAS STOKES, and EMMA (ELLEN?) OCEANE BALE.    I'm assuming you're also a descendant of the Stokes?

I descend from Ellen Rebecca BALE (1857-1940) and she married Thomas William DALLY in 1879. They had five children and moved to Warracknabeal in north west Victoria in 1894.
