Can't find him anywhere on the 1891 Census, but on the 1901 Census he is a lodger and Shoe & Boot finisher in the house of  George Aldgate & family in Leicester Road, Evington, Melton.

In his photo he looks like WG Grace.
Prob. played just Sunday league on a local green.

Hi Inchworm

Found a marriage of a Walter Gladstone Colver (father William)to a Eliza Ann Aldgate (father George) on the 22 Oct 1916 at Evington Leics. States groom is a shoehand aged 48yrs, his father is deceased (school attendence officer). The bride is aged 41 yrs, father is a labourer and they are both of Evington.

Death of a Walter Gladstone Colver at Evington on the 22 Jan 1924 aged 56.

There was a marriage of a Eliza Ann Colver on the 2 Aug 1926 Evington to a James Lee. states she was a widow.

Inchworm- Walter Gladstone Colver was an Amateur (as opposed to Gentleman)cricketer who played for Leicestershire County Cricket Club batting at 4 and 5. I have full history.
