Ella Allads, Parents
« on: Monday 08 May 17 06:47 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate parents for Ella Allads.

Ella was born circa 1868 in Camden Town, Middlesex, England. Ella lived was with his grandparents (Vile) in Somerset in 1871.

Possible Mother Ella Jane Vile.

Is Allads a mis spelling?

I'm thinking Ella and Ellen might be two different children. Ella will not be on the St, Pancras census as he was in Somerset.

You refer to Ella as "he" but the 1871 1881 census for Somerset shows an Ella J Alldis (female) aged 13 as a visitor to the home of Eliza Talbot.

Are there two different grandchildren?

I attach an extract of the 1871 census and I think Ella is listed as grandau...  and another extract further down the page of a person who was a grandson.  I can see  why there is confusion but think Ella is a granddaughter

This is getting real confusing,

Are there different families?

The first Vine family don't appear to be related
The second family are yours plus Ella in 1871
The third family are Ella's parents without Ella in 1871 with son James Alfred
The fourth family I think Ella's Mother Mary and siblings in 1881 - I think James Alfred in listed as Alfred

I still think Ellen in 1881 might be Ella and she was double counted in the census by mistake.  I can't see a birth for an Ellen/Helen in the right timeframe although there is an earlier birth for an Ella (mother's maiden name Vile) who died in the same quarter

Births Jun 1866
Birth Ella  ALLDIS   Pancras    1b   130
Deaths Jun 1866
Ella ALLDIS Age 0 Pancras    1b   100
