"orphan" (Auckland??) Noreen (Black??) married Stanley John Hider in New Zealand

Looking for a friend's mother (Noreen mentioned above). Her son lives in US and would like to know his mother's story. She would have been born maybe 90 years ago. All he heard was she had been an orphan and raised by some English sisters/ladies. (?)

Stanley John Hider b 12 Nov 1907 Qld to William Stanley Hider and Elizabeth Jessie Fretwell – They married 1902 Qld

Also a sister b 1903 Qld - Catherine Charlotte Victoria Hider – married 1928 to Benjamin Clarence Webster in NZ.

Mum - Elizabeth Jessie Hider died 1956 in NZ age 78 years.
Father - William Stanley Hider died 1945 NZ age 74 years

Paperspast has for father’s death On September 8 1945 at his residence 19 Allen street Frankton William Stanley Hider dearly loved husband of Jessie Elizabeth Hider and father of John and Kate, aged 71 years – Forever with the Lord, service at Scrimshaw’s Chapel tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2pm funeral then leaving for the Hamilton Cemetery.

Mum & Dad are on NZ 1928 ER for Hamilton Waikato at Allen St Frankton. John shows with them on 1935 Er at same address, Jessie, John and father William on 1938 Er at same address as well as Noreen, so looks like marriage was after 1935 in NZ.

Mum and Stanley swapped their names around - Jessie & John, he shows on 1946 Er with Noreen, so marriage between 1935 - 1938

Marriage disc shows marriage 1937 with the groom showing as John Stanley.

only John and father William on 1938 Er at same address

They show on the Hamilton General Roll.

But on the Hamilton Supplementary Roll for 1938 Hamilton, Noreen Catherine Hider and Jessie Elizabeth Hider  are at 19 Allen Street.

It’s interesting to find that her birth wasn’t registered until 1978 on NZ BMD..
