Hightown Truant Industrial School, Southport

i am trying to locate the records for Hightown Industrial school.
mainly between 1883-1892 (at an estimated guess)

the individual i am trying to trace is William Archibald Edgar, alias William Archibald Greenash.
Born est.1878, either Scotland or  Liverpool.

There are records noting he was at this school and also time in Liverpool Prison (Wakfield Prison record 1900).
i can confirm him joining the 1st South Lancashire regiment around 1897 (date his Regt number issued) and trace him through time in BOER Wars in Africa and two marriages.
Any help or information would be gratefully received.

There was also a birkdale farm school which actually was in Southport, Hightown was in Hightown, near Crosby
