My great grandfather, William Jackson, was born on 17th July 1839 at High Rochester. The birth certificate gives his father as Amos Jackson, a pitman. William's mother was Isabella Jackson formerly Ramage.

I have found three possibilities for the baptism of Amos:
1. 3rd September 1797 in Buryness - the son of Amos of Hillock and Mary, his wife. The Ramage family lived in Buryness too, so this is a good candidate.
2. 24th February 1799 at Birdhope Craig Presbyterian - the son of John Jackson and Elioner (?) Hedley.
3. 3rd May 1807 at Thockrington - the son of Peter and Margaret Jackson.

1 and 2 are likely, but which is correct?

Marriage - I found: "At Elsdon, on the 17th instant, Mr. Amos Jackson to Miss Isabella Ramage." in the Newcastle Journal Tyne and Wear for 21 November 1835. Seems very likely.

I appreciate any help with this direct line of mine.
Thanks
Richard
