Nicholls is sometimes known as Nikora. 

On a user submitted tree on Family Search it states that the parents of Ngawaara Tamihana were

    father:
    Wiremu Tamihana
    mother:
    Ngawaiata or Tapita Tamihana

I have a family tree line on my maori side from my cousins, who their mum, who has passed now said she had a family tree andwould send it to us, which I have, but nothing goes back from John O'Callaghan, haven't even found out his birth or death date yet and no occupation known yet.

Hi Jennifer21 - a bit more information. William Thompson Nicholls or Tommy as his sisters called him was Tai’s first cousin. Their mothers Nga Koura and Nga Waara were sisters along with Rangitapu and Te Aumihi. The four sisters had a fight with their relations and built Makahae Marae. Their waka was Te Arawa, Iwi Tapuika, Hapu Ngati Tuheke.

There are lots of photos of your O’Callaghan whanau hanging on the walls of Makahae and of course gravestones in the family urupa.

Uncle Tommy according to family history died of flu but according to his army records he was sent home to die from TB. His younger brother Frederick Obadiah died of gun shot wounds 9 Oct 1918. My brother and I visited his grave at British Grevillers Cemetry just outside Arras.
