1850s prison records

I have an ancestor indicted at Westminster in 1852, sentenced to 12 months for housebreaking. 

I can see this information on the 'England and Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791 - 1892' dataset on A*try. 

Thereafter I can find nothing further about him.

Does anyone have any idea as to which prison he may have been sent to, or any pointers for how to find this information?

Thank you Ruth, that's very kind of you. 

His name was Edward Frederick Towerzey born circa 1836.  A rare surname I think, with plenty of scope for misspelling in the records I've found so far. 

I've located him in online records as follows
1841 census,Norton St, Marylebone with his parents and siblings.
1851 census, lodging at Charlotte St, Walworth.
Plus there are newspaper articles relating to his arrest and the A*try mention of his conviction. 

But nothing else at the moment.  Thank you for any help.

Hi - Several court reports from 1852 (via Findmypast) relate the evidence of him stealing coat and money and gambling away the proceeds but beyond saying he was sentenced to a year's hard labour have no more details.

Thanks for your help Rob, yes, I've seen those articles and the sentencing of course but thereafter he seems to vanish.  I wondered if any prison records survived so I could find out if he made it out of there, and then changed his name or emigrated perhaps, but no luck so far!

Thanks so much for your help Rob, it's very kind of you.  I had discounted that one as it looks as if that person was aged 41 at their death (using the free search option on gro.gov.uk) whereas in 1857 the Edward I am searching for should have been around about 21.
