Corps wasn't a middle name as Carole supposes it is now the family name

William born 1906 was born as Corps but married as Bell and died as Bell. He used Corps as a middle name - not as his main surname.   His children's births were registered as Bell - not Corps.

Whilst Corps was certainly his mothers maiden name - from the very limited information provided by you in your post there is nothing to suggest that William's children changed their surname to Corps in later life

Sarah Ellen Corps was born in Hunslet 1879 so no obvious connection to Scotland unless her parents or siblings were the connection.  Again - no info given by you to indicate if this was the case.

From your first reply - it is clear that the info I posted about William's birth and his mothers marriage etc  was already known to you but again - it was not included in your post.
