Well spotted Ruskie I should have known that one as I have been to Barmouth often enough :-\
I'd never even heard of Barmouth.  :-[

Brilliant find Ruskie!

Your mapping skills amaze me  ;)

You must have some patience?

Think I'd rather take the challenge of writing a poem than trying to find anything on a map.
I can lose my car in a big carpark at a supermarket  ;D

Thanks Annie, but in this case it was just a bit of luck after entering some words into google, and looking through the images to find a match.  :)

Hi, Joseph Carter was my Granddad. Lived in Hall Green. Birmingham, and spent most of his spare time painting. The dining room was his studio and was full of paints and arty paraphernalia.

Welcome to rootschat Julie.  :)

Your Grandad was a very talented man. Do you have any of his work?

Hello Julie
Thanks for that  bit of informati.on.
The reason I put the original request is this.  I am a picture framer and a customer brought the picture in to be reframed. He had owned it for many years and didn't know anything about it, only that he liked it.  As I made similar appeals before I rashly told him I would find out about it and luckilly before the day was out I had.
Your contribution has just made it even more exciting.
Many thanks.
