Parish register abbreviations

I am transcribing resisters for FreeReg and have a couple of abbreviations which I cannot work out.
One is in baptisms and is 'adve', the other is in burials and is 'avence'.  What do they mean?
Bright ideas anyone?

What are your guidelines for doing the transcriptions? Does it not tell you to write what you see, rather than what you think an abbreviation might stand for?

Yes that is what I do but from a personal perspective I like to know what it means and can add this in transcriber's comments

That would fit for the baptisms as no info is entered apart from child's name. Thanks
