This mistake in the Christian name of the man (?) was discovered by me Fr (?) S (?) Phil... Vicar and altered accordingly. The entry having been made by the Clerk of the parish who had previously filled up (?) the first part of the form.

Doesn't it mean that the original name for the groom was entered as Robert, but that was crossed out & Joseph added when checked against the groom's signature which was Joseph Fear? (Presumably by the person who wrote in the margin)

Pat
King, Richardson, Hathaway, Sweeney, Young - Chelsea, London
Richardson - Rayne Essex
Steward, Hindry, Hewitt - Norfolk, North Walsham area

Pat

This is what we presumed. as it's recorded as Joseph Fear.
When we went to view the image, for possibly more information, we found this ( not quite what we were hoping to find ... lol ).

Thanks again, to all.
