"The Boards" Theatrical Musicians and Singer.

Morning, WOW, how have i not discovered this place before..... my social life is now officially over!! 

Would anyone have some tips for finding family members who worked "the boards" in the UK?
George Warren (1903) was a musician, theatrical musician (violin and saxaphone - probably others too) and we believe he met his wife Annie Robinson whilst touring the country. Annie was a singer. George's brother John (1906) we also newly believe to have been a musician too. I've never looked up anyone regarding their job before..... any tips where to begin other than just simply googling it?

The Stage archive is a really rich source, but you do have to pay (not much)

Try also the Briritsh Newspaper Archive, either direct or via FindMyPast. I find the two sites although they have the same data somehow differ in their search process and it's sometimes worth searching on both. One productive paper to search is The Era.

Ellen, George i believe may have been born in Dover, Annie in Bradford.... they eventually settled down In Newcastle Upon Tyne. (The Brother John too)
