Patrick Steele b1862
« on: Saturday 18 March 17 20:42 GMT (UK) »
Evening
This query centres around my 2nd gg Mary Reilly b1866 in Virginia, Cavan, Ireland.
At some point she came across to Glasgow, not sure when I have been unable to find her in any censuses prior to 1901.
She married a man called Patrick Steele in 22 Jan 1896 in Glasgow, she appears to have had 2 daughters together but Catherine (Kate) seems to have been born in 1893 so not sure if she was actually Patrick Steeles and the 2nd daughter Mary was born in 1896.
This is where I cannot find out what happens to Patrick, all I know is sometime between their marriage in Jan 1896 and 26 May 1898 he dies, as on that date she marries her next husband Patrick Clarke and is listed as a widow.  Search as I might I cannot find Patrick Steeles death certificate.  He was a railway labourer so not sure if that would have taken him very far.  his parents were Desmond Steele and Sarah Bishop.
Very appreciative for any help, Mary fascinates me and I would love to tie up this loose end!

There are two public trees on Ancestry for Patrick Steele, his spouse, Mary Ann Reilly (1868-1931), and daughters, Catherine Steele (1893-1971) and Mary Steele (1896-1944). The Ireland, Civil Registration Deaths Index, 1864-1958, shows the death of a Patrick Steele (b. 1862) in the January-March quarter of 1898 in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, age 36.

Patrick's parents on those trees are cited as Bernard Steele and Sarah Bishop.

Cheers,

Rodeo

Looks to be the same name on the Anc. trees although possibly the writing was not too legible or mistranscribed & possibly copied as are with many?
