I am trying to complete and answer some unanswered questions on my FAULKS FAULKES families from in and around Earl Shilton Leicestershire pre 1700 - date

Leicestershire parish records are now available on FindMyPast, but I can't see anything that early in Earl Shilton for the surname Faulks/Faulkes.

In theory they have baptisms 1552-1916, marriages 1552-1931 and burials 1552-1919
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Hi David

I probably can't be of any help to you in regard to your original question but thought that I'd tell you that I have Earl Shilton Faulks in my tree. Elizabeth Faulks (1822-1872) married William Whitmore of another well-known Earl Shilton family making her my second great grandmother. I believe that both her father and grandfather were called Francis Faulks.

If you are looking at the descendants as well as your ancestors I can therefore help you with one line

Hi Tony,
It might be helpful to follow the Elizabeth ancestors I certainly confirm her parent as Francis and Father as Francis with the marriage to William, I do not have any children for them

Did you mean follow her descendants?

I also saw your item on your new website and would appreciate the password which of course I've asked for privately.

Like BumbleB I've found that the Earl Shilton records peter out well before other records on the FindMyPast site. Maybe the earlier ones got destroyed? I have similar problems with Desford ones.
