The little tinker!  :o

Of course if anything of that had been mentioned to begin with ...

So, now we know that her maiden name was indeed Chapman, the death CarolW turned up looks plausible. As does Groom's baptism.

I am trying to find out what i can about my grandmother, she was born about 1901 not sure where she was born but lived all over kent

Janna, please can you confirm whether you think we have the right family and clarify what you would like to know e.g. her children or her parents?

If she is the one born 1901 and baptised with parents Joseph and Kate in 1905, you should be able to find her in the 1911 census and possibly the 1939 register. Unfortunately, due to the terms of the sites where that information can be found, we are not allowed to give you information from there.

According to the 1911 census, Joseph and Kate with 1905 Patience are in Suffolk, so that seems a bit less likely. However, I have found a family in Deptford (Kent) with a Katherine Patience born 1903 and a hoard of kids plus Chapman grandparents. Grandma C is Katherine, father is Charles John, mother isn't home that night.

I think we could be second guessing until Janna comes back and confirms whether or not we are on the right track.

Katherine Patience is in Lewisham in 1939 with what looks to be all her sibs, no kids, so in light of Groom's posts also unlikely.

If 1901 birthdate is correct then I think I've found her on last census born Beddingham, Sussex - think we are dealing with travellers with this one as abode was a tent.

The Patience who was a daughter of Joseph and Kate in Surrey (birth Dec.qtr.1904 Guildford) was actually born 23/10/1904 and baptised, as stated already. in 1905.    This Patience went on to marry a Joseph Trigwell.

It doesn't look as Patience Chapman born 9/10/1901 had her birth registered as cannot find in birth index.   As stated above, shown to have been born in Beddingham, Sussex.

The online tree is quite detailed regarding her children, and states her own parents as a Matty Coates and 'Polly' Chapman (believe she was Mary Ann Chapman).   It appears that Mary Ann (Polly) wasn't married to Mr. Coates either as she was a Chapman.    Having stated the names of her parents as Matty Coates and 'Polly' Chapman the owner of the tree has then linked Patience to the 1905 baptism in Surrey who was, as already stated, dau. of Joseph/Kate.

So, if the OP's Patience is indeed the one born 9/10/1901 then she was born in Sussex and from things looked at so far seems to be from a travelling family.

In that case, maybe this will need to be moved to the 'Travellers' board which might yield more results.
