Can Anybody Find Me Some Information?

I have a great grandmother called Nora Irwin(she was born, I think, as a Dwane) but I can't seem to find her birth record or death records anywhere. She would of most likely have been born somewhere around Cork, about 1897. She married Thomas Carroll, in 1930, in Kildorrey and had five children with him.

There is in 1911 a Nora Dwane aged 13 the granddaughter of Ellen Shanahan (widow) living in Ballyhooly Cork Ireland, just the two of them. Says she was born in Co Cork

Thanks for that information. But I would also like to try and find the information of Noras mother, as Ellen Shanahan is her grandmother. How would I do this?

Try looking for her in 1901 here [it's free] she might be with her mother

Have you looked on familysearch.org or https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ for her birth or baptism?

I actually found a Nora Dwane, but her surname differs, as she is down as Dwan, but she is living with her grandmother Ellen and Ellen's two children, which I have no idea which one her parent is.

Both son and daughter are called Shanahan so may not be Nora's parent....

True. But I think I read somewhere, that Julia, the daughter of Ellen and whose name is down on the website you suggested, is the mother of Nora.

It would be helpful if you could remember where the 'somewhere' that you read it was....also tell us where you have looked to save any more duplication of effort...I will look again for a birth.

ADDED: her name may have been Hanora....with Nora for short.
