After marriage, Sampson and Mary are in English censuses.
1911 index shows Mary as born Enniscorthy, Wexford which would fit with Marshalstown area.

Is that the right Mary?  Yes it is

I have everything after this, its the Ireland connection I am looking for but I don't know much about the areas.

I was looking for Phelan too, that's what her maiden name states but other records say Whelan.

Found that birth but it only says 'female'. There are also births for James 1869 and Denis 1866 with the same parents.
If Dennis and Anastatia married in 1856, you would think there would be mire children.

In addition to those on FS there is this one

James 16 Feb 1863 - he presumably died because of the later one on FS.

I can't see the baptism on March 26th though 

I have found others on Anc. With deaths too I think - also transcribed as Whelon so look for variations. You can then check them as I said on Catholic records.
