I don't think Christian would have gone back to Germany after the war, as he had resided in the UK since 1892, & probably thought of the UK as his home.
Christian married in 1898 to Mary Dixon. Mary was English & from Bewcastle.
The 7 children were English born also, which makes Christians 4 year internment, at the age of 42, seem very harsh in todays climate.
