Thanks again to MyLuck and Heywood, great results as far as I am concerned.
I would certainly never have located the marriage or Eleanor’s baptism, so it’s a real bonus to have them.
Please excuse my ignorance of Irish records, but does the fact that the marriage took place in a Roman Catholic church help in possibly locating the birth/baptism of Francis. It’s likely he was born into that faith and presumably that would help in locating when and where he was baptised in Mohill.
Eleanor would certainly be ‘ Ellen ‘ the first child of Francis and Ann. Heywood’s find regarding Ellen in the 1881 Census helps, I did not have this, a young widow, she was still living in the in the East End of London where the family settled. Younger brother Walter aged 23 years was living with her.
Ann’s surname looks from Irish records to be Lyster, as opposed to Lester, although, as with all records it very much depended the person recording the name.
It of course would be great to locate both Francis and Ann’s baptisms and parentage, so any further help or advice would be appreciated.
In the meantime I am extremely grateful for the help given, many thanks.
Ian
