Originally most of what we had was from the Census Returns. I did however obtain a birth certificate of one of the children, Walter Ternes Kelly, born in 1857, and as MyLuck mentioned Anne’s surname was recorded. She was formerly Ann Lester, and as we know from the Census she was born in Roscommon.
As their first child Ellen was also born in Roscommon it’s possible/probable that the marriage was in that county.
I do have records re Francis from the Metropolitan Police which include his warrant number, date of joining and retirement date, he did receive a pension. It’s from these records that I have his place of birth as Mohill. There is nothing else in those records that take us any further, he gave his age as 28 when he joined so presumably he was born around 1816/17 as previously mentioned, as he joined the Met on the 20th October, 1845..
