There are some Halithorn/ Hallithorn entries on Lancs OPC.
Ancestry has Collections of Quaker Testimonies. Free this week-end.
Have you searched county archives catalogues?

Hi, I really know nothing of Agnes or her family, so i have no idea if they were Quakers. I realised that Ancestry was free this weekend so i spent LOTS of time on there trying to find Agnes and her family but...i didn' t get much response to Holythorn surname.

It feels like drawing straws as to what i find for her.Now i am wondering if the surname could be spelt a diffrent way. Very grateful for your help.

Regards
Sam

I tried to look at Lancashire Archives catalogue last night but it was down for maintenance. I normally use the "Advanced Search " facility and enter a key word, usually a surname or a place. Other times I've found things using Simple Search.

I've looked at Lancs. Archives catalogue again.
1718 probate ,William Hallithorn, Kirkby, Kendal. He was an innkeeper.
1722 probate, Ann Halithorn, widow of William, Kirkby, Kendal.
Search engine doesn't allow for phonetic spellings.
Nothing for Holythorn.

Agnes Hallithorne baptised 7 May 1693 Kendal, Westmorland
Father Edward Hallithorne

Perhaps a bit too young to be your Agnes.

Variety of documents under Elithorn, Elithorne, Ellithorn, Ellithorne, Ellethorn, Ellethorne in Lancashire Archives; search under each spelling. Numerous in Kendal, Lancaster, Ulverston and other places. One featured in several Quarter Session documents for defrauding Customs and assaulting an excise officer!

Hi Maiden Stone and Heatherjulie. You dont know how grateful i am for your help, thank you so much.
I am amazed at the number of different variations of the surname. I am so amazed at the one who featured in several sessions for defrauding  Customs and assult! phew...I wonder if he was mine..

What i have of Agnes is this, she married William WALLER 15 Aug 1706 HAWKSHEAD LANCS. So either of the two baptisms could be her as for the date. I am totally at a brick wall stage with this as i wouldn't know where to go from here!

Grateful thanks to you both
Sam
