Hi All

My Grandfather served in a recovery unit in the Burma Campaign, attached to the Durham Light Infantry, I belief they were the relief sent to Kohima & continued onto Mandalay.

From what he used to tell us, his unit would have been a similar size to this, he drove a Dodge 6 x 4.

Does anyone know which unit this photo is taken of ?

May be wrong but I don`t think the photograph was taken during WW2 . This appears with the abundance of `Berets` to be post war 1946 onwards ?

Cheers

So pleased to see this photograph as my Dad is on here with his chums - I’ve  got some photos of his time in Burma with his chums and their names.

Just came across this picture online randomly and had a proper shock. I'm pretty sure my late grandad is among the men. He served 52nd H.A.A Regt. He was a CPL. He told me he used to have to go into jungle in small groups repairing trucks etc. Can anyone give more context on the image please.

Thanks very much
