EMMA MOORE.EAST NORTON.
« on: Thursday 16 February 17 20:24 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone. :).
Struggling with this one...if anybody can help that would be great :)

On William and Mary Moore's headstone at East Norton it lists all of their children whether buried there or not as in most cases.
There is a daughter an Emma Moore shown and it says she died June 1856 aged 42 years.
Cannot find an Emma ?? born East Norton on the 1851 census.

I cannot find a baptism for her nor marriage or burial.

William and Mary married in 1802 at East Norton and all of their children were baptised at East Norton except their son George who was born about 1814 at East Norton and also and cannot find his baptism either in the register but have in the census.

I have also found a John Moore born about 1818 East Norton in the Census but cannot link him to William and Mary but could well be another son??

I am wondering if they left the village for a few years before returning .?? ???

An help would be really appreciated...thanks.

Robin

Could she be the wife of one of their sons?

Did you check freebmd for a death in 1856 Leics or anywhere else?

Freebmd has no death in the June qtr 1856.  If she died 30 June and her death was registered on or after 1st July it would fall in the September qtr but nothing in Leics

Quote
their son George who was born about 1814 at East Norton

If Emma was 42 when she died in 1856 - birthyear 1814??

Hi ...thanks for your reply :)
The headstone has Emma as daughter.
It says died in 1856 age 42.
George is shown on the headstone as died 1854 age 41.
I have Georges death but not baptism.
Nor Emma's.
Possibly Emma and Georges parents left the village for a few years ??
I assume Emma married??....

Struggling to find Emma???? ???

Thanks
Rob

FindMyPast has the East Norton registers online.

There are several children baptised to William and Mary Moore, but the last one listed is Samuel in 1811.

A George Moore, son of William (FWK) and Mary was baptised in Burbage in 1816 - any good?
Bradbury (Sedgeley, Bilston, Warrington)
Cooper (Sedgeley, Bilston)
Kilner/Kilmer (Leic, Notts)

Thanks for the reply :)
I have had the baptism registers checked and George and Emma are both missing at East Norton but George is shown as born East Norton in the census.
A marriage for Emma would be ideal...but haven't found one as of yet.
Thanks :)
