I have found some relatives of mine on Lancashire BMD and noticed some of the marriage certificates have a note to say they are not available? These are some between 1888 to 1915. 
Anyone know why that is please?

Not all of the Register Offices have signed up to the certificate ordering part of LancashireBMD.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

If a church is shown against the entry and not "Registrar attended" you may be able to find the certificate on Ancestry or there may be a part transcription on Family Search

Thankyou everyone, those answers all make sense now.
I feared it might have meant that they had been destroyed in some way, but it looks like there maybe hope of seeing them now.

There are some partial marriage transcriptions on Family Search which give a mix of the date of marriage, name of the church - ages of bride and groom plus fathers name

If the entry you want can't be ordered by the online ordering - just click on the reference number and it should display a certifictae application form which you can send off to get a copy of the certificate.

I understand that for every entry that is indexed a certificate can be ordered :)
