William Forsyth (b 23/04/1823) Marriage

I am trying to find the marriage of William Forsyth to Helen (I don't have the surname of Helen).

I have checked ScotlandPeople and can find 5 marriages which have a William Forsyth marrying a Helen between 1843 and 1847.

Both William and Helen were born around St Ninians. I believe Helen was born around 1827.

Of the 5 marriages on ScotlandPeople, I cant see any details which can narrow it down for me.

I do know William and Helen had a family consisting of Alexander (b 1847), Helen (b 1848), Margaret (b 1850), Jane (b 1852), William (b 1856) and George (b 1860).

Any pointers to help find which Helen is the correct one and which marriage is the probable marriage would be great.

Have you looked for the marriages of any of the children as that will give you Helen's maiden name?

Have you looked for William & George's births on SP as  they will also give her maiden name

Not yet. Alexander is the only confirmed marriage I have . He married Jane Cunningham from Ireland, and his children were born in USA!!!

Drew a blank on SP. Searched for all the children and nothing shows with a father of William!!!!

I have just searched SP index and there is an 1860 birth for a George Forsyth in Holytown

George was b Bothwell according to the 1861 entry and was a year old.  The 1861 entry shows Holytown as the Registration District

There is no other 1861 entry for a George Forsyth born 1860 Bothwell or anywhere else in Lanarkshire so have you viewed that entry and if so - who are the parents?

I have now found Helen, Alexander and Margaret all with parents William Forsyth and Ellen Whyte
