Hi all, I am currently researching my great great grandfathers army service during the Great War but need a bit of help interpreting his record that I found on Ancestry.com. I can see from his attestation that he joined the 3rd Lincs in 1915. However his 1919 pension record then states he was in 683 Agricultural Coy, Labour Corp (N Staffs). I am assuming that he joined the Lincs and then was invalided to the Labour Corps.
I cannot decipher what reason he was moved to the Labour Corps for. Also I cannot work out the N. Staffs Regiment link that is mentioned several times in his record. I understand from family that he may have served abroad, although I just can't make it out from his postings page. I feel that there is a wealth of info in this service record, but I just need some help interpreting it. Can someone sum up his service for me?
Thanks
