Esler family of Linenhall St, Ballymena, Antrim
« on: Sunday 15 January 17 21:15 GMT (UK) »
Researching William Esler and Mary Lennox.  I have found only one son James Lennox Esler. When he was born in 1871 they were residing in Linenhall Street, Ballymena, Antrim.  I would be most grateful for any help.

James Esler's birth certificate gives father William's occupation as pawnbroker- an important clue. There are no other Esler children with mother's name Lennox in GRONI's index so perhaps his mother died at his birth or not long after.

Ballymena Observer, Jul 30 1887 lists the Pawnbroker's Establishment as being for sale.

It mentions that the vendor wishes to retire and settle on her farm and that particulars can be gained from M Esler (so presumably Mary).
