Parish in the County of Southampton 1730's - Help Deciphering Please
« on: Saturday 14 January 17 12:24 GMT (UK) »
Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me in deciphering the parishes in this Marriage Allegation between Edward Knight a Widow and Yeoman and Christabella Isdell a Spinster

Ancestry have the document dated 1730, I know I don't have much hope in transcribing every word but identifying these parishes would really help me.  Perhaps someone with local knowledge would be able to recognise them.

Many thanks

TYTE - Clock makers, Grocers - Somerset, Surrey
PLENTY, CURTIS - Millers, Yeoman Farmers - Somerset
MONK - Boatbuilders - Staffordshire, Worcestershire
MILLS - Sawyers, Joiners, Hackney Cab Proprietors - Warwickshire, London, Surrey

Think these might be Hedley (now Headley) and Micheldever?

There's a useful list of parishes here:

Website: http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~towcesterfamilies/genealogy/
Towcester - anything, any time
Cheshire - Lambert, Houghland, Birtwisle
Liverpool - Platt, Cunningham, Ditton
London - Notley, Elsom, Billett
Oxfordshire - Hitchcock, Smith, Leonard, Taunt
Durham - Hepburn, Eltringham
Berwickshire - Guthrie, Crawford
Somerset - Taylor (Bath)
Gloucestershire - Verrinder, Colborn
Dorset - Westlake

That's great and Headley certainly fits which other research of my Knight family.

Thank you both for your help
