Does anyone know if there used to be living accommodation above Monroe's tavern around 1969. Ive been lead to believe my grandfather lived there in 1969.
Many thanks

Does anyone know where the pub take's its name Monroe's from ? Was that the original land-lord ? I had some lovely meals there back in 2016.

Hi,
A Monroe is a hill, that's what I know, even then it's depending on it's height.
Having said that, in Irish it says.... it's where people lived at the end of the river.
But, it is a boys name.
