see above - discovered the Calliope went missing on 23 April1871  from Calcutta to New York.

I guess then, to get a death cert, I ring the number given in an earlier post !

All records of my great aunt stopped after her marriage. This January someone posted a gravestone photo on Ancestry and they sent me a photo hint.
I contacted some private members including the person who posted the photo, but got no reply.
So having had a very good and helpful experience with Rootschat in the past, I posted my questions on this forum.
You will find a lot of excellent help here.
