dates of arrival of early Victorian settlers

I have come across a remarkable article in the Argus of Melbourne for Saturday 4th of June  1868.
It is  titled The Duke of Edinburgh in Victoria. The article covers  what would have to have been
the biggest gathering of old  colonists in the colonies history. There were 600 men who had  been
in the colony for at least 25 years. Two of them were  among my Hart ancestors. All of them
signed a declaration of loyalty to Queen Victoria and gave the dates of their arrival in  Victoria.
This  would be of great interest to anyone researching early Melbourne ancestors and shows just how valuable a research tool the Trove site is.

Something is amiss.  4 June 1868 seems to be a Thursday according to this snip:

Guess none of mine were 'big' enough in the colony to sign - though I had plenty who had been around for a long time!    :(     Oh well - bad luck!

Some very well known names amongst that lot aren't there.

Half the 'streets' and some suburbs of Melbourne are represented!

Not sure whether this has been posted about before, but images of many early pioneers to Victoria were done by photographer Thomas Foster Chuck.
Copy held at the State Library of Victoria and can be seen on their site.

So if your ancestor is on the list and haven't seen an image of them before then this might be the best available.

I have a direct ancestor with his photo on it.
Also a close relative, for which I have the Chuck photo  - probably one of several made for the family by Chuck.
