He only had the one christian name, Richard.  Richard did have a brother John but do not know his wifes name. He came from quite a large family, eleven brothers and sisters.

Arrived in Liverpool a week earlier than planned.
Saw that Museum had opened on 20 Feb called in to view Kings Devereux database  as promised.
It had only one with only same info that Jim1 found.
Pte Richard Anders 3T   005503 other unit 1York&Lancs 039736. Discharged 22/01/1919
Saw Kathy Donaldson later in Liverpool Archive Library she on Facebook runs Liverpool & SW Lancs History Society she checked her personal database of Liverpool Regts & Lancs Regts of WW1 soldiers killed injured or with newspaper mentions. No Trace.
I then checked Gore's Directory 1900 a John Anders . Baker in Walton area .no Richard
He appears on 1911 Gore's at 6 Low Hill Coach & Horses each year till 1915  when his Wife Helena appears on 1916 Gore's at same address till and including 1920 There is a Richard Anders also in 1920  no profession at 77a Bagot St Wavertree
Also in 1920 there was a Head of Household in the Gore's Mrs Catherine Anders at 46 Bulwer St.Bootle.each year till 1925 when the Head of Household became per Gore's Mrs Helen Anders so presume Helen lived with Catherine after 1920 till she died or moved away.
Gore's in 1946 shows a Mrs Catherine Anders at 149 Lordens Rd and a Wm Anders at 11 Bulwer St Liverpool 3 off Breck rd not Bootle.Strange. Coincidence.
Death Indexes show a Richard John Anders aged 83 in Dec quarter 1924  West Derby  and an Elizabeth Anders aged 65 in Dec quarter 1925 in Prescot Area where there were loads of Anders deaths registered most years mostly females.
Hope this helps.

Fascinating and some of the information fits in well. Helena and Richard seperated, when I do not know. Richards and Helenas offsprings Alice and John were both brought up by their grandparents in St Helens, 1911 census shows him residing with his grandparents aged 3. Helena continued to manage and own pubs in the Liverpool and New Brighton area well into the 1950's. They never divorced. Richard moved back to St Helens but when, I do not know. Whether Richard moved to Bagot St I do not know.
At this time I do not feel that Catherine Anders is part of the puzzle, but of course who knows what mysteries get thrown up. Richard was definetly back in St Helens by 1939, occupation down on sons wedding cert shows him working at glass works.
Many thanks for your hard work and input, it really is most appreciated. I hope you have a informative and enjoyable whilst in Liverpool, many thanks Ray
