Who was James Dickson's father, as you have stated it was not Benjamin?  I am convinced I have the right family.  Starting with a David Dickson 1681-1742 probably born in Scotland but came to Ireland had a son James 1725-1793 and he was the father of Benjamin 1765-1840.

Benjamin married Margaret Anderson and had Margaret, James, William, Samuel and David.  James was the father of Rt. Hon T

No, what I said was that James Dickson of Milltown House (married 1884) was not the son of Benjamin Dickson born c1765.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

OK, we are researching a different James in a different century, but of the same family.
