Andrew Gibson 10 Au1790 B: Edrom near Berwick, Scotland (possibly Roxburghshire)

This is a baptism reference for Andrew.  I am trying to find names of both of his parents and hope the original record might supply them.  Does anyone have the ability to see the actual image for me. The father could be a John or Robert and his mother might be Sarah (really need her "nee" name).

Scotland's People only has the father named on the index - Robert Gibson. That usually means the mother isn't named, but looking at the image may tell you who witnessed the baptism, which might give you a clue to the mother's family - but it will be largely guesswork...

Thanks, already looked at both those.  His mother might have a nee name of Roberton/Robertoun/Robertson, but I am just speculating here.

Maybe the same family, location certainly looks correct, but I think these were baptism dates, not actual births.
Someone who can get a look-see at a record is the only way to confirm this I think. If this is his family I maybe looking at the wrong person as this gives Margaret as his mother.  No others of such name have turned up in my tree and naming conventions were strictly followed for my relatives.

There weren't that many Gibsons in Roxburgh at that time, but apparently enough to loose my relatives

You've presumably already come across the John Gibson who married Sarah Roberton (sic) on 22 Mar 1795 in Crailing?

The only three children I can definitely see for them, all baptised in Crailing, are:

- Robert Gibson 9 Jul 1795
- Isabel Gibson  13 Feb 1797
- Janet Gibson 23 Dec 1798

No Andrew though - but, in my experience, a lot of parish records for this period are incomplete or haven't survived, so there could well be other children.
