Checking a Liverpool R.C. marriage (November 1913)
« on: Sunday 08 January 17 15:35 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know if it is possible to do a 'simple' check of a marriage in a Liverpool R.C. church (Wavertree) dating from November 1913, please? I have found a searchable with transcript details of Liverpool R.C. marriages up to 1901 but there is nothing to indicate where to look for anything after that time:
http://www.liverpoolhistoryprojects.co.uk/liverpoolrcmarriages/

The church where the marriage took place, so far as I know, was called "Our Lady's" at Wavertree. Would this be "Our Lady of Good Help" or would there have been another Catholic church in the district with a similar name?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise.

Thanks.

The bride and groom were Maria Balin and Andrew Belton. From a note on Andrew's baptism record the date of the wedding was 2 November 1913 (which was a Sunday).

I didn't realise asking someone to check details on subscription sites was allowed on this forum? At the time of writing the website for the successor parish for this area of Liverpool does not have anything as to who to contact for archival records.

Most Liverpool RC church records of the 19th and at least part of the 20th century are available to view in the Liverpool Record Office. Liverpool City Council in association with Ancestry have made some of these records available online (Ancestry and Find My Past are free in all Liverpool libraries). The site you mentioned LHP provided Liverpool RC records several years ago. I don't think they provide record services any more. People who have contacted LHP have not received a response.
